It's for charity!

As soon as I explained the size of the task I'd agreed to, my boss was more than willing to let me take some time off work to prepare. I needed it - I'd never woken up that early before!

What had you agreed to do?

Take part in the MacMillan's longest day golf challenge. 4 rounds, 72 holes and around a 20 mile walk, all before it got dark. A lot harder than it sounds!

When was it?

Last Sunday. Myself and 7 other members of my local golf club in Dumbarton took part in the challenge.

What happened?

The first tee shot was struck at 5am, with the last at 6.15pm in the evening.

The rain only turned up to say 'hi' for a short while, so thankfully the rest of the day the sun joined us for our 20 miles!

How much did you raise?

A grand total of £3,358 was raised, and we even got our pictures in the local paper as a result.

I really enjoyed it - in fact, I'm already planning something bigger for 2016. This time it'll involve retailers, both customers and non customers. I'll post up details soon.
