On Monday 6th November The VME COOP Team based in Malta had a teambuilding day out which consisted of teams battling other teams by trying to channel their inner artist, and create a winning “Autumn” themed painting, which would be judged by the other competitors.
Event Highlights:
Sip and Paint: This event was a Sip and Paint gathering where all of the VME Malta team channeled their inner artists in order to create some stunning autumn-themed paintings.
Team-Building: To make things even more interesting, everyone was split into pairs. This was a great opportunity for colleagues who maybe don’t work closely together to collaborate and bond with each other.
Friendly Competition: The twist was that everyone had to paint the same picture. And at the end of the event, the finished paintings were to be judged by the other artists (who could not vote for their own painting), but since they couldn’t decide a winner from the final 2 paintings, it was declared that everyone was a winner.
Food and Drinks: Delicious food and refreshing drinks were provided though out the day to keep the teams energy levels high and their creativity flowing.
After the Painting competition was over, the teams shared more food and continued playing more team games.
Using Sociocracy for decision-making re. Teambuilding events
Ever since VME became a worker owned "Co-op", VME has implemented the Sociocracy model, meaning that that every employee has the opportunity to be involved in the company’s decision-making.
The decision-making is done in what Sociocracy calls "Circles", and during the election process of new circle terms, members are invited to nominate themselves to join the circle, and if there are more circle applicants, than there are, seats in the circled. Then all of the VME workers have the ability to vote for the person they would like to see democratically elected to that circle.
The Malta Social Circle currently consists of Anne Marie Barbara, Casey Formosa & Pablo Martelletti
