VME COOP "SPONSORSHIP INITIATIVES" #3

Sponsorship initiative #3 "Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Pipe Band" (Scotland)

The funds donated by VME through the "VME Coop Sponsorship initiative" will be used to help ongoing operational costs of the organisation.

The People's Ford Boghall and Bathgate Pipe Band are a community teaching & competing organisation based in West Lothian. (Scotland) that has been operating for over 50 years, having been set up in 1972 by a group of Boghall residents.

They have c. 100 members across a Grade 1 band, Novice Juvenile B band and a learner class, and as of Saturday 19th August, 2023 their Grade 1 band are World Pipe Band Champions.

The band turns over c. £100k a year in equipment, uniforms, transport, and hall lets for practice venues.

They have a commercial sponsor in "Peoples Ford", but ultimately, the band club are a charity and is largely a self-funded organisation,

The contribution that VME has generously made will be put towards the ongoing operational costs of the organisation.

World Pipe band Champions 2023!

Boghall and Bathgate Pipe band were extremely humbled to be crowned World Champions on Saturday, for the first time in the band's 52 year history.

Whilst the current members of the band were ecstatic about the announcement, the band would not have been able to achieve the prestigious title without the tireless hard work of former members, committee past and present and all of their supporters including the parents of their teaching system since the band’s inception back in 1972.
