Sell multiples of the same product
The quantity button is there to make the scanning of duplicate items easy.
Scan the item once, hit the quantity button, and enter the amount.
The quantity button can be disabled, which is a good idea for stock control. Otherwise your staff could scan 10 yoghurts, thinking they are the same flavour when in fact they are all different.
Sell items without a barcode
Not everything you sell will have a barcode.
To solve this problem, IntelliStore's product lookup button allows you to search by description, or by an image on the screen.
Check a price
Sometimes you want to quickly check the price of an item, without adding it to the basket.
IntelliStore has a button to do this. Simply select the "price enquiry" button and scan the item.
You even have an option to add it to the basket, if the customer wants to buy it.
Offer cashback
You can offer your customer's cashback, where you give them cash which is added onto their shopping bill, and paid by debit card.
IntelliStore makes this simple, prompting your staff with the cash options you've defined, defaulting to 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. You can even setup a prompt so your staff ask the customer, "Would you like cashback?"
Voiding items already scanned
You simply tap the item you wish to void, hit the void button and the item is removed.
Voiding promotional lines
You don't need to worry about this.
Just remove (void) the lines the customer doesn't want anymore, and IntelliStore auto recalculates which promotions are still applicable.
One interesting advantage of this approach, is that in theory this could result in a whole new offer triggering, because IntelliStore always gives the customer the best deal when an
item is linked to more than one promotion. For example, buy one pepsi get one free requires 2 items, but if there is also a 10% off pepsi, then removing one of the pepsis from the basket will remove the buy one get one free offer but add on the 10% off promotion. All without your staff needing to get involved - they just scan all the items in the basket, and the system does the rest.
Void at transaction level
Sometimes your staff might need to void the entire transaction.
This can be set to require supervisor authorisation, and is all logged in the database so you can monitor how often this happens (and by whom) in the back office.
Leaving the till unattended
One simple press of the Secure button will lock the screen, allowing your operator to leave their till for a short while, without risking anyone unauthorised using it.
It also automatically goes into secure if the till hasn't been used for 60 seconds - but you can change that time to whatever you want.
Search for a product via description
Your staff can use the on screen keyboard to find a product easily.
This saves the cashier having to leave the till to look for a barcode, making the process much quicker and smoother.
Numeric keypad
Every till in a grocery store needs a keypad - operators use this day in day out.
IntelliStore's keypad is clear and easy to use, for operators of all finger sizes.
Scanning manufacturer coupons
IntelliStore's coupons engine allows your staff to handle scanning coupons at any time within the transaction.
It will automatically deduct the correct amount, and is fully logged in the system.
Price Override
Price override allows your staff to correct mistakes at the POS, by entering a new price. This can require supervisor authorisation, and is logged with the new price, the old price and who did the override.
Some price overrides happen automatically. Reduced to Clear products are a form of price override, but your staff just scan the new label, which does everything automatically in the background.
Fast pay buttons
IntelliStore suggests common tenders, so your staff only need press one button instead of keying an exact amount.
This reduces the chance of the customers being given the wrong change.
Return products and process a sale at the same time
IntelliStore can process a refund and a sale at the same time.
The benefit is so the customer can choose to use the refund to pay for the items in the basket.
Recognises when a customer inserts their credit card
IntelliStore can detect when a customer inserts their credit card, meaning your staff no longer need to press the credit card button.
One less thing to worry about.
No Sale (open till drawer)
If you need to open the cash drawer for any reason, you can press the No Sale button.
Most IntelliStore users have this set to requiring manager or supervisor authorisation before IntelliStore will open the drawer.
This can also be turned off or on against each member of staff, so your more senior staff don't require authorisation.
Search for product via barcode
If the product's barcode is damaged, the only way to add that product to the basket is to key in the barcode.
If you can only read part of the barcode, you can use the "Search by barcode" function to lookup all barcodes that contain the partial barcode you type in. It should be easy from here to find the right match for the product in your hand.
Customer forgotten their purse?
You've scanned all the items, asked the customer for money and they can't find their purse or wallet.
It happens, and IntelliStore allows you to suspend the transaction, which prints a barcoded receipt. This allows you to continue serving other customers.
When the customer returns with the money, you simply scan the barcode and the transaction is back to where it was, waiting for payment.
You can even lookup suspended transactions, if the receipt with the barcode is lost.
Giving change
How much change your staff need to give the customer is very clearly highlighted.
IntelliStore can even show the change due in different currencies.
